The new Expedition Bolt-On Top Tube Pack from Apidura hits all the right marks for what we like to see from such bags. Top Tube bags are great for quick access to snacks, sunglasses, or other small items that you might want to grab mid-ride. The Apidura Expedition Bolt-On looks like a great option for top tube gravel bike storage with its waterproof materials and sleek bolt-on design that we prefer.

When we reached out to Apidura for comment on what sets this pack apart from their other offerings, they focused on two key features in the new design, the added bolt holes and new tool-free bolts:

“It’s essentially exactly the same as our Expedition Top Tube Pack … with a wide selection of bolt holes and some new custom tool-free bolts. Whereas the Racing Bolt-On Top Tube Pack has two mounting positions, the Expedition Bolt-On Top Tube Pack has even more options, covering a few outliers whose accessory mounts are very close to the stem (such as the BMC URS) and ensuring compatibility with every spacing of accessory bolts we’re realistically ever going to see. The tool-free bolts are an injected molded glass-strengthened nylon custom design, with a wide head for easy grip and the ability to use a coin or other wide, flat object for extra leverage, if required. They are currently only compatible with the Expedition pack as the removable padded base needed redesigning for the wider bolt heads.”
