Help Shape the Future of San Diego Cycling
Gravelstoke is based in San Diego, and we often like to share important local news that may have a significant impact on cyclists. SANDAG (San Diego Association of Governments) is our metropolitan planning organization and a council of governments that is responsible for bringing together local decision-makers to develop solutions to regional issues including transportation.
SANDAG is currently seeking feedback to help them plan for safer streets, as they develop their Vision Zero Action Plan to eliminate injuries and fatalities across the county. At the same time, SANDAG is updating the Regional Active Transportation Plan to improve and expand the network of connected bikeways and walkways that help make walking, biking, rolling, and riding a safe and practical travel option for people of all ages and abilities.
SANDAG has created a Social Pinpoint map to engage the community on how to make our roads safer for cyclists and pedestrians. Comments are anonymous, and you don’t need to create an account to make an entry.
Is there a particular street that you would like to bike or walk on, but you don’t currently feel safe?
Where have you recently experienced a close call on the road while driving, walking, rolling, or biking?
Are there destinations in the region that would benefit from a new or improved biking connection?
The survey and map activity on the website will be open through Janaury 10, 2024.
