The Next Great American Gravel Race | SBT GRVL
Arguably the most exciting new gravel event in recent memory will debut in 2019. Set among the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Routte County, SBT GRVL is poised to make for an impressive race. In case you couldn’t interpret from the name, SBT GRVL will start and end in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Presented by Canyon Bicycles, the event takes place August 17-18, 2019.
The Courses
SBT GRVL will offer up some of America’s finest high-altitude gravel, and riders will have the option to choose from three courses of various distances.
From the gravel crushing 141-mile, 9000K Black Course, to the milder 37-mile, 2000K Green Course, there will be something for all riders. This well organized event has already drawn the interest of the gravel community and pro racers including Ted and Laura King, Amity Gregg, Yuri Hauswald, Payson McElveen, Neil Shirley, Kaysee Armstrong and Karen Jarchow, among many others.
“We want SBT GRVL to be an anticipated event, not just for elite athletes, but for all level racers, as well as their families. It was important for us to offer a course for everyone, including those who don’t own gravel-specific bikes. You can race the Green course on any bike and get a taste of the incredible mixed terrain that Steamboat has to offer.”
